Counselling

A Therapeutic Approach Rooted in Intent

At With Intention Therapy, every session begins with a simple but powerful belief: healing happens in safe, compassionate spaces. Founded by Louise Pearson, a deeply experienced and empathetic social worker, our practice is dedicated to walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s most complex and painful challenges.

With over 16 years of experience across community, government, and private sectors, Louise brings a wealth of knowledge and a person-centred approach to her work. Her practice is grounded in evidence-based methods and shaped by a deep respect for each person’s unique story, culture, and strengths.

A Holistic, Trauma-Informed Approach

Louise integrates a range of therapeutic modalities to support emotional healing, resilience, and growth, including:

  • Trauma-Informed Counselling
  • Polyvagal/Somatic approaches
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Psychoeducation
  • Relaxation & Mindfulness-Based Techniques
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

These approaches are not one-size-fits-all. Louise works collaboratively with each client to co-create meaningful therapeutic goals. Whether that’s rebuilding a sense of safety, managing overwhelming emotions, or finding clarity in the midst of uncertainty.

Who We Support

Louise specialises in working with individuals impacted by trauma, violence, mental health, and complex social issues. Her services are particularly attuned to those navigating:

  • The justice system
  • The effects of crime
  • Traumatic brain injury or acquired disabilities
  • Biopsychosocial stressors

As an Approved Victims Services Counsellor, Louise is also able to provide support to those affected by crime through NSW Victims Services.

Therapy with Intention

At the heart of Louise’s work is a commitment to authenticity, care, and intention. Every session is a space where you are seen, heard, and supported without judgment. Whether you’re seeking to process trauma, build coping strategies, or simply find a place to breathe and reflect, Louise is here to walk with you.
